One of the best things about living in the DC area is having easy access to the fleeting beauty of the Cherry Blossoms surrounding the Tidal Basin!

Here in Washington, DC, the cherry blossoms are blooming, and the city looks absolutely gorgeous!

I was sitting outside the other morning, enjoying the dawn after the barn chores, and witnessed a big ruckus. In the corner of my eye I saw two of the cats running like crazy, never seen them run like that before, and also a couple of crows flying after them screaming bloody mary. Of course that warranted further investigation, and as I was about to get out of my chair a small fox rounded the corner of the
house. She stopped and looked at me, I started chasing and hissing, and off she went. When I went inside to check on the cats, they were double size of course and so disrupted I couldn't even talk to them. Didn't take too long for them to calm down. This is the first time I've seen a fox this close to the house, literally just 10 feet away from me. Not too happy about it, considering kidding is just around the corner. The chickens are still OK, but I think it's good think I have the hot wire on top and bottom
of their space. Reported by Friggjasetr

I watched The Lorax with my kiddos and LOVED it! I hope parents can use this as a way to communicate to their kiddo's (or vice versa) on the importance of the environment, and what happens when people do not care.  This spring there are many organizations helping Joplin to replant trees after the tornado. I am SO excited about that, and the opportunity to help out!   Reported by CMonetGarden
